For over 14 years, Hazon Yeshaya has been providing humanitarian services to relieve poverty and hunger around Israel. Our soup kitchens in Ashkelon and Rishon LeTzion have extended food assistance to children, the elderly and the needy in Israel's southern and central regions. But this is clearly insufficient.
We have recognized the need to expand our facilites to reach the citizens of the North of Israel, to provide food assistance, free dental treatment and vocational training to those who are in need in Israel's peripheral areas, which so often come under attack, and where poverty is acute. Our new humanitarian center in Karmiel will open in early 2012.
For similar reasons, we have decided to expand our humanitarian support to Israel's southern residents, who live within rocket-distance of Gaza and suffer from chronic insecurity. During 2012 we plan to open a free dental clinic and free vocational training center in Ashkelon, to ease the plight of the poor in this region.
In Jerusalem our facilities are overcrowded and insufficient to meet the needs that we confront daily. We plan to build an expanded humanitarian center with more space for our volunteers, our staff and our recipients.
Throughout 14 years of our operation, we have witnessed the difference that Hazon Yeshaya has made in people's lives. With your support, we plan to extend our support throughout the country to meet the needs of all who seek our help. Dedication opportunities are available.
